Synopsis
　　In the Allegory of the Cave, Plato ponders: what would happen if one of the prisoners managed to free themselves from their chains and escape from the cave? What if that prisoner were Jay, a little 7-year-old boy?

　　What lies behind the daily movement of a city? Last winter, we met in Paris and began discussing the Allegory of the Cave, as told in Plato’s Republic. The myth imagines humanity living in chains, facing the back of a cave, and watching shadows move on the walls, thinking it is reality. We both work with images, which certainly can be illusions, but can also become instruments of struggle and liberation of thought. So, from this discussion, we decided to create a short film. We had a few fixed ideas—the cave, the dance, the city bustling around us—and one question: what would happen if we all managed to turn together towards the exit of the cave? Perhaps it is not enough to assert that images are illusions as long as the chains that bind us are real.

　　影片翻拍自黑泽清1998年的同名作品，原作讲述一名男子的女儿惨遭虐杀，于是他招募另一名男子协助他查明真相并报复杀害他女儿的凶手。法版由柴咲幸、达米安·勃纳尔主演，主角变为一位女性（柴咲幸 饰），故事的发生地也都变更为法国。

　　影片的发生地回到埃诺兹最熟悉的巴西，这既是一个爱情故事，也充满情爱、惊悚元素。
　　故事是一个年轻人的亲密写照，他的未来被有致命吸引力和压迫性的精英偷走了，叛乱和暴力往往成为了唯一可能的出路。一个与想要他死掉的制度作对的边缘年轻人，与一个抵制父权制攻击自我生活的女人之间的爱情。一个完全无助的逃亡者，与另一个在虐待婚姻中被压垮的人之间的遭遇。

　　Based on a true story of a renowned French gangster of the late 1970’s and early 1980’s, “Freedom” tells the story of Bruno Sulak, a highly charming criminal à la Arsène Lupin who orchestrated daring heists without firing a single shot.

　　害羞文静的法国少女芳妮参加学校的交换学生计划，来到德国住在同龄笔友蕾娜家。蕾娜冷酷又充满防备，语言是她们之间的一道墙，芳妮为卸下蕾娜心防，将烦恼与秘密告诉对方，两人因此拉近了距离。时间一天天过去，爱情不用翻译，反倒在语言的落差中滋长。这次，轮到蕾娜前往法国交换，暂住芳妮家的她，逐渐发现芳妮的秘密似乎另有蹊跷，但更糟糕的是，自己的感情已经越陷越深⋯⋯

在一个深夜里，雷努卡（Renuka）刺死一名警察后逃离德里一家妓院。 她在印度北部的一个性工作者社区避难，在那里她遇到了德维卡（Devika），一个被迫卖淫的年轻女孩。

为了一场未发生的展览，法国庞毕度中心向李欧卡霍抛出大哉问，请他用图像响应自己。向来不按牌理出牌的卡霍再度出人意表，亲自粉墨登场，以磁性画外音细述，并亲上剪辑台，透过隽永老歌、耸动字卡、怀旧相片，以及家庭录象、纪录档案与电影片段，让图像彼此撞击产生新意，不论政治、历史、个人与影史皆揉合为一，一部半自传基调的「卡霍式」散文电影于焉问世。

本作は甲斐が20年以上をかけ構想し書き上げたオリジナル作品。舞台はそう遠くない現代、国家が推進する延命治療として、一定の階級より上の人間が病に侵されたとき、自分と同じ見た目の“それ”が提供されて病の身代わりになるという設定で展開される“命の問題作”だ。

卡马尔格，法国——内吉玛正在努力训练，以赢得当地的斗牛比赛。然而，在一次庆祝活动后，她被牛袭击，开始注意到一些令人不安的变化。与此同时，一头失控的公牛在社区中横行，导致年轻男子接连丧命，令居民们感到恐慌。

Synopsis                                    
                               　　A sudden gunshot destroys the dream of two lovers. The fate of Orpheus and Eurydice is a cruel one. On their wedding day, her soul is kidnapped and taken down into the Netherworld. Under a metaphysical sky Charon, the taxi driver, waits for the crime to be committed.                                    
                               　　COMMENTARY                                    
                               　　The movie is an opera-musical with an immersive and transmedial language. The myth is transposed into the contemporary age: Charon is a taxi driver and we go from Paris half under water to the stage of the Teatro Regio in Turin, in a play of musical references that range from Puccini to Händel, from Verdi to Gluck, from Vivaldi to Frankie Goes to Hollywood. And the images fuse words, lyric opera, fashion and the visual arts, between the real and the virtual.                                    
                               　　DIRECTOR'S STATEMENT                                    
                               　　We created an unexpected encounter between acting and lyric opera, between pop, special effects and images filled with symbolism. Bringing into a cast of extraordinary actors such as Vincent Cassel, Fanny Ardant and Rossy De Palma two young artists selected among hundreds of lyric opera singers: Valentino Buzza and Mariam Battistelli.
