本片讲述了宝鸡千阳县千川村面临换届选举，青年村民李向南凭借先进的矮砧苹果栽植技术走上富裕路。作为候选人之一的他，想在村里推广新技术，而另一位候选人村主任老耿，则一心想要保住20年前带领大家种植的老乔化苹果树。在经历了苹果滞销、双方互不理解乃至激烈对抗等一系列冲突之后，李向南终于用事实说服老耿。县里派叶小雨为扶贫第一书记协助李向南搞扶贫，二人默契配合克服重重困难，最终先进的苹果种得到推广。
In the nuclear ravaged wasteland of Earth 2087 water is as precious as life itself. The isolated Lost Wells outpost survived the holocaust and the inhabitants guard the source of their existence.
